Questions for the Photographer
- We have a public image to protect, can we trust you not to post our intimate photos online or sell them to tabloids? Yes. Our contract will say if you give me permission to use your images in my online advertising.
- What type of equipment do you use? I shoot film, digital, Holga and 4×5.
- Can we meet beforehand? Yes. I prefer to meet to answer questions and feel things out.
- How long does it take to get access to our online proofs? 21-28 business days. When they’re ready you will receive a link and password to your online gallery.
- Do you have any advice? Be cool. Don’t let the little shit bother you, especially things you cannot control, like the weather. Also, put aside 15 minutes of alone time, where you can kiss passionately with the person who matters most.
- How many photographs do you take at each wedding? There is no pre-set limit. Generally speaking, you will receive between 2-5 thousand images depending on the number of hours I’m there. Less hours means less photographs.
- Do you retouch images? I will retouch images you order as wall art or that are going into your wedding album.
- Do you require a deposit? Yes. If you want me to hold a date for you, you must leave a $1,250 non-refundable deposit.
- Do you travel? Yes. I travel but my accommodations are your expense.
- What are your fees? The fee is $750 an hour. That includes me and one other photographer.
- Do you have back-up equipment? Yes. I carry four camera bodies, multiple lenses and eight flashes with me. If something breaks – be cool. I’ll grab what I need, and we’ll pick up where we left off.
- Do you have any recommendations for spots to take pictures? Yes. Check out this blog post. I list 50 possible choices to choose from.
- Do I really need a second photographer to shoot our wedding? Great question but ultimately the decision is yours alone. Read this blog post to help answer that for you.
